Description
First, before we get to the meat about these blankets, we must gush about the Seamless Garment Technique of weaving used to make these throws. Double weave, or as Jacqueline’s Textiles calls it, the Seamless Garment Technique allows for the construction of fabric without seams. Depending on how the loom is “leashed” or set up, and then the sequence of the movement of the “warp” or vertical threads, the weave may create a tube, like the Jacqueline’s Textiles throw pillows, two separate fabrics woven simultaneously like the front of Jacqueline’s Textiles posh and cozy poncho, or a piece of fabric twice the width of the loom like this throw blanket and the back of the poncho. The colorwork of these fabulous, large buffalo check throw blankets is similar to the colorwork of the Jacqueline’s Textiles buffalo check scarves. Only with the blankets, the coloring is worked alongside the construction of the double width fabric using the Seamless Garment Technique.
