Double weave, or as Jacqueline’s Textiles calls it, the Seamless Garment technique allows for the construction of fabric without seams. Depending on how the loom is “leashed” or set up and then the sequence of the movement of the “warp” or vertical threads, the weave may create a tube, like these pillows, a piece of fabric with a pocket sealed on all sides, or a piece of fabric twice the length of the loom like the Jacqueline’s Textiles throw blanket and poncho. While there is a top and bottom seam to allow for the stuffing of the pillow, these pillows have no side seams. The decorative white patterning on the pillows front and back is actually the seamless clustering of the vertical warp threads created by the construction of the fabric tube.
