The short version for decorating with hygge bistro curtains:

Short curtains lend themselves well to kitchen windows because they are often small and kitchen decor tends to be open and bright. Jacqueline’s Textiles makes decorating with bistro curtains easy by utilizing monochromatic color in order to fit as many decor opportunities as possible. Brass, gold, wood, black and white curtain rods work well. Curtain rod finials of brass, gold, wood, black, white or glass all work with these curtains.

Complete with a hand sewn rod pocket, the curtains are ready to hang. However, for a special chic touch with a hint of industrialism, use curtain rings with clips. While the curtains are 2 feet in length, the window does not need to be roughly two feet for these curtains to work. For a taller window, merely install the curtain rod in the middle of the length of the window and you will have a unique appeal. Privacy at your level, plenty of sunlight coming in from above and gauzy light entering through these curtains. With this middle-of-the-window technique, these bistro curtains may work well with certain sizes of bedroom windows.

TL;DR version for decorating with hygge bistro curtains

This the Jacqueline’s Textiles guide for decorating with bistro curtains. I’m a girl who likes to decorate with light. Maybe it was my military upbringing–you can’t paint walls and Mom and Dad frowned upon hanging pictures and posters. So, I’ve grown to appreciate the simplistic beauty of a light airy room. I’m the kind of person who opens the blinds and curtains to let all the light in. In dark living arrangements with little natural light, I have been known to drop some serious coin on soft white LED lightbulbs with no less than 1600 lumens and a bunch of lamps. Being a natural light coinsure, I absolutely cherish these curtains I now offer.

I experimented a bit with different materials to see what kind of curtains I could get. The first set comprised of a cotton warp (vertical threads) and weft (horizontal threads) that was a bit thick and cushiony. Almost cuddly in their appearance. They provided plenty of privacy but nowhere near enough sun for my natural light addiction. The second cotton warp and weft set were perfect. I had made a table runner out of the same material and had an idea of what it would look like once finished, were it to sit on a table. But these curtains truly come alive in a sunny window.

    Curtains for bright airy decor

Light and airy, what I love about sheer curtains is that they filter light so delightfully. And the light moving through the curtains creates beautiful designs on the floor or the wall as the sun travels through the sky. As the name suggests, bistro, cafe or kitchen curtains are good in a kitchen. I’m partial to bright sunny kitchens with light colored cabinets and bright colors like cherry red or sunny yellow. Curtains like these lend themselves well to open, airy kitchens. They also work well with both a bohemian or minimalist decor schema.

I made these curtains with a rod pocket. Have curtain rod, will travel. However, I think these would look great with the curtain rings with clips. That will add and even airier look to your window with a hint of chic industrialism. Nearly any curtain rod and curtain ring material or color will work well with them. A finial for these curtains could be wood or glass for a sparkling appeal.

    Not just for the kitchen

They aren’t just relegated to your kitchen, however. If you have another small window in another room, these curtains will fit right in. In a bedroom, if you have a taller window, mount the curtain rod somewhere near the middle. That way you’ll have the fresh touch, a bit of privacy and plenty of light. Refurnishing a basement for a cozy living space? These curtains will look wonderful in the small high-up basement window. They’ll add a nice domestic touch to you renewed basement.

At Jacqueline’s Textile’s I primarily work in monochromatic color schemes to provide maximum design capabilities, I.e. white and natural curtains. One luscious color can stunningly transform or gently soften a room. Soon your room will inspire and comfort you with the hygge designs by Jacqueline’s Textiles.
